Pair a Bluetooth barcode scanner
Klovio works great with the phone camera alone — but for high-volume receiving or picking, a dedicated Bluetooth scanner is faster and easier on the hands.
What works
Klovio supports any Bluetooth HID (“keyboard wedge”) scanner — the most common type. Ring scanners, pistol-grip scanners and rugged sled scanners all work, as do USB scanners on devices with a USB port.
Pair the scanner
- Put the scanner into Bluetooth pairing mode — check its manual; usually a barcode in the manual or a button hold.
- On your phone, open Settings → Bluetooth and select the scanner from the device list.
- Open the Klovio app. Any screen with a scan field now accepts input straight from the scanner.
That’s it — there is no separate setup inside Klovio. If the phone sees the scanner, Klovio does too.
Camera vs. hardware scanner
| Camera | Bluetooth scanner | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | Hardware purchase |
| Speed | Good | Fastest |
| One-handed | Harder | Easy |
| Best for | Light/occasional use | All-day receiving & picking |
You can switch between them at any time — even mid-task.
Troubleshooting
- Scans go to the wrong field: tap the scan field in Klovio first so it has focus.
- Scanner won’t connect: remove it from your phone’s Bluetooth list and pair again.
- Double scans: lower the scanner’s “same-code delay” setting (see its manual).
Tip: keep one spare charged scanner per shift. A dead scanner shouldn’t stop a picker — they can fall back to the camera instantly.
