"Duplicate SKU" error
A duplicate SKU error means a product already exists with the SKU you’re trying to use. Every SKU in Klovio must be unique — it’s the product’s permanent identity.
Adding one product
If you see it on the add-product form, a product with that SKU is already in your catalog. Either:
- You’re re-creating something that already exists — find and edit the existing product instead, see Find a product fast.
- It’s genuinely a different product — give it its own distinct SKU.
During a CSV import
In an import, a duplicate SKU isn’t always an error. An import updates any SKU that already exists — that’s how a CSV doubles as a bulk edit. A true error is a SKU appearing twice in the same file: decide which row is correct and remove the other. See Fix common CSV import errors.
Check archived products too
The clashing SKU might belong to an archived product. Include archived items in your search — see Archive or delete a product. If it’s the same item returning, restore it rather than making a new one.
Tip: a consistent SKU scheme prevents most duplicates — see Products and SKUs explained. Random codes are the ones that collide.
