Archive or delete a product

When you stop carrying a product, you have two options — and archive is almost always the right one.

Archive a product

Archiving hides a product from everyday lists and search but keeps all its history intact.

  1. Open the product under Inventory → Products → All products.
  2. Click Archive.

An archived product:

  • No longer clutters pick lists or product search
  • Keeps its receipt and shipment history for reporting
  • Can be restored at any time if you carry it again

Delete a product

Deleting removes the product entirely. Klovio only allows it for products with no stock and no history — typically something created by mistake. If a product has ever moved, archive it instead.

Products with stock

You can’t archive a product that still has stock on hand. Run it down to zero, or adjust the remainder out first, then archive.

Tip: archive seasonal lines at the end of their season instead of deleting them. When the season returns, restore them — barcodes, costs and history all come back.
