Use Klovio on rugged handheld devices

Klovio runs on standard phones — and equally on rugged handheld devices built for warehouse life.

What works

Any device running a current Android or iOS version runs the Klovio app. That includes:

• Rugged phones — drop-resistant, dust- and water-sealed handsets
• Android handheld scanners — industrial devices with a built-in laser/imager scanner
• Standard phones in a protective case

Built-in scanners

Many Android handhelds have a hardware scanner built in, usually with a physical trigger. These present scans to apps just like a Bluetooth scanner does — tap the scan field in Klovio and pull the trigger. No special Klovio setup.

Choosing devices

• Rugged phones — a good balance of cost, durability and a familiar phone experience.
• Handheld scanners — best for very high-volume scanning, all day, with a trigger.
• Standard phones + cases — the lowest-cost start; fine for lighter use.

Tip: pilot one device before buying a fleet. Run a real shift on it — picking, receiving, a full battery day — before committing to twenty.
