Use the receiving queue
The receiving queue is the list of deliveries waiting to be taken in. It’s the receiving team’s to-do list.
Where to find it
- Dashboard — Operations → Receiving → Receiving queue
- Mobile app — the Receiving screen
What’s in the queue
- Expected shipments — inbound shipments a manager created ahead of delivery, with the supplier and expected lines. See Create an inbound shipment.
- Blind receipts — deliveries with no advance shipment, received straight from the dock. See Blind receiving without a shipment.
Working the queue
- Open the queue on the mobile app.
- Pick the delivery being unloaded now.
- Scan items in — see Receive a shipment.
- Finish; the entry leaves the queue.
Keep it short
A long receiving queue means stock is in the building but not yet counted or put away — invisible to pickers. Clear deliveries the day they arrive.
Tip: assign the queue to a named receiver each morning. “Someone will get to it” is how a delivery sits unreceived until a picker can’t find stock that’s technically in the building.
