Edit or rename a warehouse

Warehouse details change — a site is renamed, an address is corrected. Editing a warehouse is safe and doesn’t touch its stock.

Edit a warehouse

1. Go to Warehouse → Warehouses → All warehouses and open the warehouse.
2. Click Edit.
3. Update the name, address or time zone.
4. Save.

A note on time zone

The time zone stamps every receipt, pick and report for that site. Set it to the warehouse’s physical location, not head office. A site in another region should carry its own zone so its timestamps read correctly to the people working there.

Renaming is cosmetic

The name is a label — renaming a warehouse changes how it’s displayed everywhere, instantly, and affects nothing else. Locations, stock and history all stay attached.

What you can’t do here

You can’t move stock between warehouses by editing — that’s a transfer. And you can’t remove a warehouse that still holds stock — see Close or deactivate a warehouse.

Tip: settling on a naming convention? Rename existing warehouses to match it early, while you have few sites. It’s painless now and tidier forever.
