Transfer stock between locations
A transfer moves stock from one place to another without changing how much you own. Use it to top up a pick bin, clear an overflow location, or shift stock between warehouses.
Transfer between locations
On the mobile app:
- Open Transfers (relocation).
- Scan the item you’re moving.
- Scan the source location you’re taking it from.
- Enter the quantity.
- Scan the destination location.
Klovio updates both locations instantly — source down, destination up. The total on hand is unchanged; only the where moved.
You can also create transfers on the dashboard under Inventory → Inventory → Transfers.
Transfer between warehouses
Moving stock between sites works the same way — pick a destination location in a different warehouse. The stock leaves one warehouse’s count and joins the other’s. Each site’s reporting stays correct.
Replenishment
The most common transfer is replenishment: moving stock from a bulk/overflow location into the small pick bin near the pack stations. Doing this proactively keeps pickers from hitting empty bins mid-order.
Why not just edit the number?
Transfers leave a clean, timestamped trail of who moved what, from where, to where. Editing quantities directly hides that. When a count looks wrong later, the transfer history is what lets you reconstruct the truth.
Tip: set a quiet moment each day for replenishment — end of shift works well. Pickers walking into full bins is what keeps a warehouse fast.
