Directed put-away
Directed put-away means Klovio suggests where each received item should go, instead of leaving it to the worker. It keeps the warehouse organized as it fills.
How it works
When a worker scans a received item during put-away, Klovio suggests a location based on:
- The product’s default location — see Set a product’s default location
- Where the same SKU is already stored
- Open space in the right zone for that product
The worker carries it there, scans the location to confirm, and the stock is booked in.
Why use it
- Consistency — the same SKU lands in the same place, every time.
- Speed — no decision to make; just follow the suggestion.
- Less mess — stock doesn’t get scattered into random bins.
Overriding a suggestion
The suggestion isn’t a lock. If the suggested bin is full or unreachable, the worker scans a different location and Klovio records the real one. The system follows reality.
Without directed put-away
Workers simply choose a location and scan it — see Put away received stock. Directed put-away just adds the guidance.
Tip: directed put-away is only as good as your default locations. Keep those current and the suggestions stay trustworthy.
