Put away received stock
After a delivery is received, the stock sits in your warehouse’s receiving area. Put-away moves it to a real storage location so it can be found and picked later.
Put away on the mobile app
- Open Storage (put-away) in the mobile app.
- You’ll see items waiting in the receiving area.
- Scan an item’s barcode.
- Carry it to a location and scan the location label.
- Klovio records the stock at that location and removes it from the receiving area.
Repeat until the receiving area is clear. The whole flow is “scan item, scan bin” — no typing.
Why put-away matters
Until stock is put away, Klovio knows you have it but not where it is — so pickers can’t be routed to it. A tidy put-away is what keeps picking fast.
Choosing a location
- Keep fast-moving SKUs in easy-to-reach bins near the pack stations.
- Store the same SKU together where you can — it makes counts and picks simpler.
- Heavy items belong low; light items can go high.
If you scan a location that already holds a different SKU, Klovio lets you proceed (locations can be mixed) but shows you what’s already there.
Split put-away
A large receipt can go to several locations — put 40 units in one bin and 60 in an overflow bin. Just scan the relevant location for each portion.
Tip: put away the same day you receive. Stock stranded in the receiving area is stock your pickers effectively don’t have.
