Receive a shipment in parts
Suppliers don’t always send everything at once. A partial receipt lets you receive what arrived today and keep the rest of the shipment open for later.
Receive part of a shipment
- In the mobile app, open the inbound shipment under Receiving.
- Scan in the items that actually arrived, in the quantities delivered.
- Tap Finish — Klovio asks whether the shipment is complete or partially received.
- Choose partial. The received units go into stock; the outstanding lines stay open.
What happens next
The shipment stays in your receiving queue showing what’s still expected. When the rest arrives, open the same shipment and receive the remaining units. Repeat until everything is in, then close it as complete.
Partial vs. short
- Partial — the rest is still coming on a later delivery. Keep the shipment open.
- Short — the rest is not coming. Close the shipment and record the shortfall. See Handle short and damaged shipments.
Choosing correctly matters: a partial shipment left open waiting for stock that will never arrive just clutters your queue.
Tip: note the carrier or delivery on each partial receipt. When three trucks fill one PO, that note is how you reconstruct what came when.
