Run an on-hand report
An on-hand report answers “what do we have, and what’s it worth?” — across the whole operation or any slice of it.
Run it
Start from Inventory → Inventory → On-hand stock, or open Reports for the dedicated view. Then narrow it:
- By warehouse — one site or all
- By category — one product group
- By status — in stock, low, out of stock
What it tells you
- Quantities — units on hand per product and location
- Value — quantity × unit cost, totaled — see Understand stock valuation
- Low stock — products at or below their reorder point
Use it for
- A stock valuation snapshot for accounting or audit
- Spotting overstock — high value sitting still
- A reorder list — filter to low stock and that’s your buying list
Snapshot it
Export the report to CSV, dated, at month-end — see Export your data to CSV. A trail of monthly on-hand files is a simple, solid valuation record.
Tip: run the on-hand report by category. A category total that’s drifted up month over month is overstock building quietly — easier to catch here than product by product.
