How integrations match SKUs

Every Klovio integration — QuickBooks, Xero, Shopify, WooCommerce — links records by SKU. Get SKUs aligned and integrations just work. Get them wrong and nothing matches.

The matching rule

When Klovio syncs with another system, it looks for a product with the same SKU on the other side. If it finds one, the records are linked. If it doesn’t, that product simply won’t sync — no order, no stock update.

Common mismatches

  • Different codes — Klovio has OOL-001-1L, the store has olive-oil-1l.
  • CapitalizationABC-100 vs abc-100.
  • Extra characters — a stray space, a different separator.
  • Missing SKU — a product in one system has no SKU at all.

Align before you connect

Before the first sync:

  1. Export products from both systems.
  2. Compare SKUs side by side.
  3. Make them identical — pick one system as the source of truth and fix the other.

A CSV import is the fast way to correct SKUs in bulk.

After connecting

If a product or order won’t sync, mismatched SKU is the first thing to check — it’s the cause far more often than anything else.

Tip: settle your SKU scheme once, early, and never change a SKU on a product that’s already integrated — it breaks the link on both sides.
