Edit a product
Product details change — a supplier renames an item, you add a barcode, a cost moves. Editing a product is safe: it never changes how much stock you have.
Edit one product
- Go to Inventory → Products → All products and open the product.
- Click Edit.
- Update any field — name, category, barcode, cost, dimensions, reorder point.
- Click Save.
A note on the SKU
The SKU is the product’s permanent identity. Receipts, picks, history and integrations are all tied to it. Changing a SKU is possible but disruptive — it can break the match with QuickBooks or another connected system. Treat the SKU as fixed and rename freely everywhere else.
Editing many products
To change a field across lots of products, see Bulk-edit products or re-import a CSV — an import updates any SKU that already exists.
Tip: editing a product never moves stock. If a quantity is wrong, that’s a stock adjustment, not a product edit.
