Batch-pick multiple orders

Last updated May 2026

Batch picking is picking several orders together on a single walk. Instead of one trip per order, the picker collects for many at once — far fewer footsteps.

How it works

  1. A manager groups orders into a batch in Operations → Shipping.
  2. The picker takes a tote or cart with a slot per order — see Track stock in totes.
  3. Klovio gives one combined, location-sorted pick list.
  4. At each location, the picker pulls the total needed and scans units into the right order’s slot.

Klovio keeps each order separate the whole time, so items don’t get mixed.

Why batch-pick

A picker who visits one bin can pull stock for ten orders in a single stop. For warehouses with many small orders that share popular SKUs, batching cuts walking dramatically.

When not to batch

Large multi-line orders are usually better picked one at a time. Batch picking shines on lots of small, similar orders — it’s less useful when each order is already a big trip.

Tip: batch orders that share their top SKUs. Ten orders that all include the same three best-sellers are the perfect batch — one stop covers them all.
