Add multiple barcodes to a product

A product has one SKU, but it can carry several barcodes. Klovio scans any of them and lands on the same product.

When you need this

• The manufacturer changed the barcode between production runs.
• The same item comes from two suppliers with different barcodes.
• You stock both an each-level barcode and a case barcode.
• You apply your own internal barcode alongside the manufacturer’s.

Add a barcode

1. Open the product under Inventory → Products → All products and click Edit.
2. In the Barcodes section, click Add barcode and enter the new code.
3. Save.

Every barcode listed now resolves to this product when scanned during receiving, picking or counts.

Keep barcodes unique

A barcode can belong to only one product. If you try to add a code already used elsewhere, Klovio blocks it and tells you which product has it — a useful catch for catalog mistakes.

Tip: when a supplier’s barcode changes, add the new one rather than replacing the old. Stock already on the shelf still carries the old code.
